Joby graduated from East Tennessee State University in 2000 with an M.S. in Mathematical Sciences, from Virginia Tech in 2008 with an M.S. Agricultural and Applied Economics, and in 2016 with a Ph.D. in Geospatial and Environmental Analysis. Dr. Kauffman is a nineteen-year veteran mathematics and statistics instructor; he also worked for six years as a research scientist at the Center for Natural Resources Assessment and Decision Support where he led the development of improved modeling tools and datasets for natural resources assessments. He loves helping people in general and finding ways to explain tough concepts so that others can understand.
